The state of Robo-Advisors in 2022 is complicated. Let’s take a closer look!
Robo-advisors were media darlings a few years ago, and for good reason. They threatened to shake up the investment industry with an automated service that was supposed to make advice more accessible.

➡️ Over time, though, many firms that offered this feature have been bought out or changed their focus, often to help wealthier clients instead. Despite many disappearing, it’s hard to deny that they changed the landscape of finance a lot in such a short time.

A few things have happened since this video was published:
– Betterment, one of the leading U.S. robo-advisors, announced that it was prioritizing selling its services to retirement plans and financial advisors. Primarily servicing individual investors was not cutting it financially.
– CI Direct Investing has made its robo-advisory business more prominent on its website. Robo services will fall under CI Direct Investing. Discount broking will operate as CI Direct Trading
